The new Macbook Pro would be about to be announced? This is what we know

Apple could very quickly unveil the successors to the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros, equipped with all-new M2 Max and M2 Pro processors.

Surprise, this Tuesday, January 17 could be a day of announcements for the American manufacturer.

The new MacBook Pro M2 would arrive sooner than expected

According to the always very well informed Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple could present two new MacBook Pro of 14 and 16 inches today. These two products would not benefit from a keynote in good and due form, but from a simple press release on the official website of the brand.

This presentation in the middle of January remains surprising. Apple has a habit of letting the first quarter of the year pass to unveil its new products in the first days of spring.

The two MacBooks would be the updates of the models released in 2021, this time equipped with M2 chips, and more precisely the M2 Max and M2 Pro processors, if we refer to the different names given to the SoCs developed by Apple in the past.

Technical developments and ever more power

Another clue comes to accredit the thesis of a quick presentation of the next MacBook Pro M2. A new reference for an Apple product has just appeared on the list of radio equipment authorized by Canada.

Numbered A2779, this reference would correspond to the next-generation MacBook Pro. Wade Penner, who flushed out this addition, further indicates that the laptop would be compatible with Wi-Fi 6E, the latest wireless network standard to date, for higher speeds, but also better coverage.

However, we should not expect a revolution, both in terms of design and functionality. Apple would keep the same chassis as the previous models and would be satisfied with an internal revision to improve the performance of its most powerful laptop. The 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros would also retain the same Mini-LED panel as well as the notch which is definitely a hallmark of the Apple product line, despite criticism from some users.
